I am an absolute beginner at drawing.

So I thought this book would fit me.

But it turns out it was for absolute beginners in name only. It starts out with some absolute basics, yes. But then it gets much too advanced much too fast and I was completely lost. All the demos are too challenging and too far beyond my level to be useful.

I might return to this book in the future, but for now I’m turning to something else that is actually for beginners.
